Calm, Procedural Support for Family Court
England & Wales
JSH Law exists to help people navigate the family court process when they are acting without a solicitor — particularly where cases are complex, emotionally charged, or procedurally unfair.
This is not a volume practice.
It is focused, careful, and evidence-driven support for litigants in person who need clarity, structure, and procedural confidence.
I am Jessica Susan Hill, founder of JSH Law.
I work directly with litigants in person involved in private family law proceedings, offering procedural guidance, case preparation support, and structured court navigation.
I am currently qualifying as a Solicitor Advocate, and my work sits at the intersection of:
-
Family court procedure
-
Safeguarding-heavy cases
-
Evidence management and bundle preparation
-
Strategic hearing preparation
-
Systemic accountability within the family justice system
Many of the people I support are navigating:
-
High-conflict private law children cases
-
Allegations of domestic abuse or coercive control
-
Cafcass involvement and Section 7 reporting
-
Complex directions, adjournments, or repeated hearings
-
Situations where professional representation has become unaffordable or withdrawn
I understand the reality of the family court process — not just how it is meant to work, but how it actually operates for litigants in person.
I am that ‘someone who actually understands what the Family Court is doing to me’ person. Call me, even if it’s just for a chat about your situation and i’ll put the kettle on.
JSH Law – Lived Experience Since 2009
Personally led, procedurally focused support — with trusted external expertise where needed
How JSH Law Works
JSH Law is personally led by me.
I do not delegate client matters to junior staff, and I do not operate a call-centre or volume model. When you work with JSH Law, you work directly with me.
Where appropriate, and with your consent, I may help you coordinate or interface with:
-
Independent solicitors
-
Barristers
-
Domestic abuse support workers
-
Safeguarding or advocacy professionals
These professionals are not employees of JSH Law.
They remain independent, and any formal legal advice or representation is provided by them under their own professional duties and regulation.
My role is to ensure that:
-
Your case is procedurally coherent
-
Your documents are structured, relevant, and court-ready
-
You understand what is happening, why it matters, and what comes next
What I Help With
I commonly support clients with:
-
Understanding Family Procedure Rules and Practice Directions
-
Preparing statements, chronologies, schedules, and position statements
-
Organising evidence and court bundles
-
Preparing for hearings and managing directions
-
Responding to Cafcass involvement and reports
-
Identifying procedural unfairness or risk
-
Strategic preparation for appeals or further applications
This support is practical, calm, and focused on process — not emotion-driven reassurance, and not adversarial theatre.
What I Do Not Do
Clarity matters.
-
I do not replace a solicitor or barrister
-
I do not provide legal advice where this is prohibited
-
I do not offer advocacy unless lawfully permitted
-
I do not promise outcomes or take on cases that cannot be supported safely
What I do offer is procedural competence, strategic clarity, and structured preparation — which, in family court, often makes a decisive difference.
A Different Kind of Support
Many litigants in person are intelligent, capable, and motivated — but overwhelmed by:
-
unclear processes
-
inconsistent court practice
-
power imbalance
-
emotional pressure
JSH Law exists to restore order, understanding, and procedural control where the system has become confusing or destabilising.
This work is grounded in:
-
fairness
-
proportionality
-
safeguarding awareness
-
and respect for the court’s role — without blind deference to poor process.
Transparency & Boundaries
All work provided by JSH Law is procedural guidance and litigation support, not legal advice unless explicitly stated.
Nothing on this site should be taken as a substitute for independent legal advice.
Where legal advice or representation is required, you will be signposted appropriately.
